Exchanging Weather Reports With India

Here is a weather exchange project from the students of Bal Bharati Public School in New Delhi, India. Thanks to the headmistress, Ms. Sandhya Kakkar, your students did a great job drawing and writing weather reports. We really enjoyed reading them and glad to learn more about winter in India. It's autumn time in our country, so our weather report will be about the beautiful colors and signs of this special season.

UN Climate Change Conference

Our School has participated in the introductory seminar of "Things Talk", an international climate and waste art project for children conducted by Cross Cultures Project Association (CCPA).

The education project, Things Talk - Children, Climate Change, and Waste Art, aims to provide the children of the world with an opportunity to be heard in the global debate on climate change. Things Talk creates a global platform, where children can get a chance to speak about their ideas, concerns and future dreams in relation to how climate changes will affect the world they live in both locally and globally. The project is also about experiencing and sharing one's experiences, dreams and thoughts with others. It is therefore possible for all classes that complete the project, to share photos and thoughts with children in other parts of the country and the world.

Special thanks to the UN for giving us the opportunity to be part of this program.

Teddy Bear Tour Around The World

We would like to introduce you to our new friend, Oscar. Oscar is a lucky, brown, little bear who is going to join us in his long and exciting adventure around the world to make new friends and learn new things. The furry toy would only spend a few weeks in a school/country before it is sent to its next destination to allow him some rest and opportunities to discover what traditions each country has to offer. Each school would keep a diary (written or video) of teddy's adventures before sending it on its journey to the next country. We are very excited about the prospect of welcoming Oscar as we follow his steps from one country to another.

Oscar is going to visit us in the following order: Scotland- Poland- China- India- Lebanon- Germany- France OSCAR IS A GREAT ADVENTURE!

Our Heart Beat Rate

Grade 5 students did an interesting activity. They measured their heart beats after performing different activities such as resting, walking, running and jumping. Then, they went to the computer lab and every student drew a bargraph to show the variation in their heart beat rate.

Students discovered how their heart beat rate changes as their movement change. Also, they were happy since they learned how to draw a bargraph using the computer.
