Together we can achieve more!

Child's Day is such a special occasion to be celebrated. What makes it special is the fact that we can celebrate it in a variety of ways. This year we chose The Arab Cultural Club as our destination. At the club, we had the chance to choose stories to read, listen to a narrator telling a story with expression, and interact together though games. Our host offered us cake and juice. Then we were presented with two bags containing stories, an activity book, and colors.

We attended a workshop titled " Connecting Classrooms", organized by the British Council and presented by Mr. Nigel Furness, the head of teachers at White Rock School in England. The two-day workshop was on how to implement new dimensions into the curriculum in order for our students to develop as global citizens. Mr. Nigel gave an example by showing us a video on how this is done at his school. Participants had the chance to work together and practice on how to devise lessons that serve this aim. On the second day, we had the chance to talk about our experience with the link between our school and Cauldeen Primary School in Scotland and how we were able to come up with different activities involving all subjects , thus creating a sense of respect in students' towards their culture and the culture of other countries and an awareness that there we are part of the world so it is crucial for them to be aware of its different cultures thus sharing its similarities and celebrating its differences.
